Tuscan Chicken Pizza

My family loves pizza. LOVES it. My husband delivered pizza for years and considers himself a pizza connoisseur. We love to have family pizza nights often, whether it’s from a local pizza parlor or made at home with everyone making their own creations. There’s something fun and easy going about pizza and yet it can be so complex in flavor with the right ingredients.
With spring in full swing, I love a pizza that is a little lighter in flavor and colors. Serving a pizza with the colors of Spring on the back patio is just delightful and this Tuscan Chicken Pizza sure brings the Tuscan spring to the table!
Rather than use the typical red pizza sauce, I opted for a white sauce. Bertolli® Creamy Alfredo Sauce makes for the perfect sauce on this pizza because not only is it ready to serve, the flavors are delicious yet not as overpowering as a garlic sauce. We also used pre-made pizza dough (bought in the deli section of your grocery store), mozzarella cheese, diced tomatoes, sliced green onions, cubed grilled chicken and fresh basil.
Roll the pizza dough out onto a flat surface covered in either flour or cornmeal (either is fine, I had flour on hand). It doesn’t have to be round…my kids love when we make fun shapes with our pizza!Spread the Bertolli Alfredo Sauce all over the surface of the pizza dough. Make it a little thick-the sauce is SO GOOD!
Top the dough and Bertolli sauce with the toppings-cheese, chicken, onions, tomatoes, and then rip up the basil and scatter it. Top with a little more cheese (just to make sure there’s enough).
Bake your pizza at 425 for 10-15 minutes on a cookie sheet or pre-heated pizza stone. Turn the pizza about halfway through cooking. It is done when the crust starts to brown.
Slice your pizza and serve hot. This recipe was a hit with my kids, and I’m sure it will be with yours too!
