I grew up in Northern California, literally 20 minutes from the gorgeous wine county— Napa Valley. As a matter of fact, I still live in the area, just closer now. My husband and I love to take frequent trips to the Valley as often as we can, but as parent’s we can’t drag the kids out every weekend to wine taste, nor would I recommend it. There are so many wonderful wineries all over California that we just don’t have access to and the ones that are local tend to get missed because we like to stick to visiting our favorites. Most aren’t even found in our local stores. So when I found out about The California Wine Club, I knew this would be the perfect membership for us!

Bruce and Pam Boring created the California Wine Club when they became frustrated while trying to find truly great wines. They wanted to create a place that was just like “one friend recommending a great bottle of wine to another friend”. And that is exactly what they did!

For my review, I had the privilege of trying out their Premier Club. For $49.99 (shipping included) you can enjoy two bottles of California wines. With membership you can choose to have your shipment every month, bi-monthly or quarterly. With each shipment you are able to specify if you would like two bottles of red wine, 2 bottles or white wine or one of each. In my first month’s shipment I received wine from Robledo. I had never heard of their wine before and was excited to find out they were in Sonoma! In my shipment came their Sauvignon Blanc and their Tempranillo.

I never had a Tempranillo before this and was extremely curious as to what the blend would taste like. The blend was extremely smooth and incredible. It has to seriously be one of my favorite wines I have enjoyed this year. My husband is a huge Sauvignon Blanc fan, so that is pretty much an an automatic hit in our house— and it was!

By getting a membership to The California Wine Club, not only are you getting to enjoy wines from all across California, but you are supporting the local “mom and pop” wineries.

Want to sample some wine yourself? The California Wine Company is holding a giveaway on their site. There you can enter to win gifts including a three month wine club membership for yourself or to send as a gift for the wine lover on your Holiday list.
