Having some time for myself is so important and definitely something I need to do from time to time. Raising three boys (yes, THREE), can be overwhelming to say the least. I enjoy my evenings, after all the kids are in bed for the night, to indulge in a little snack and a cold glass of Butter Chardonnay. Seriously friends, this is my absolute favorite Chardonnay. I love a good bold and luscious California Chardonnay and that’s exactly what this is. It’s creamy and buttery and everything I could ever ask for in a Chardonnay. Simply put, it melts in your mouth! I usually buy it by the case. Keeping it in stock at my house is a must with all these kids running around.
So what’s it like raising three boys? Honestly, it isn’t too bad. I actually enjoy being a #boymom and wear that hashtag proud! But don’t ask my washing machine who definitely takes a beating with all the dirty laundry that piles up with boys who can get their clothing dirty 5 seconds after putting them on. I really don’t understand how so many rocks can be loaded in my middle son’s pockets that he brings home from school. At this point, I am pretty sure there are no more rocks on the playground.
Then there are those Legos that seem to be blended in with the floor. No matter how many times I make sure the toys are picked up and put away, there is always that one that manages to be right there when I walk or vacuum. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve had to turn off my vacuum to rescue a toy (or sock) from it. I know you other moms out there know what I am talking about.
And then I can’t forget about the amount of cups that fill up my sink. I swear my kids will have a cup of water and then 5 minutes later grab a separate cup for milk. No matter how many times I tell them to reuse the same cup, it seems my words go in one ear and out the other.
So as you can see, that is just a fraction of what my daily life is like. You can fill in the blanks with tantrums, trying to cook through a baby crying, kids fighting, messes being made constantly, nap fighting, and more. But you know what? I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I am so grateful to have these little boys as mine. I know these are the memories I will look back on and smile. One day there will be no more laundry to clean, no more rocks to find, no more cups that fill my sink, and no more ouchies I have to kiss. So for now, I will pour myself a glass of Butter Chardonnay and be thankful for another day with these three boys, because let’s be honest… Everything’s Better with Butter!
