This time of year is so much fun! Holiday parties and dinners are filling our weekends and making DIY gifts take up the rest of my time. I love giving something homemade as a gift because it is so much more special and personal to the recipient! In years past I have given gifts like custom t-shirts, family name wall art and homemade wreaths and this year a few friends had mentioned they wanted to make some homemade crafts as well so I hosted a girls crafting night in at my house thanks to HP and their new Social Media Snapshots paper!
We had two crafts planned and both were photo centered to utilize the new paper from HP that prints perfectly sized photos from their Social Media Snapshots app! Let me start by saying that the Social Media Snapshots app is so much fun and my kids and I have used it for so many projects already! It takes photos from your social media accounts or your phone’s photo album and prints them to look like instant photos! The new paper to go along with the app is perfectly sized at 4X5 and has a sticky back so it can be used as a sticker or as a craft like we did below:
Our party was set up with everything we neede to make these gifts-large sized crafting sticks, wine bottles, holiday tags, gift boxes, gift bags and of course my HP Envy 5660 and the Social Media Snapshots paper! HERE’S A FUN VIDEO TUTORIAL FOR YOU TO WATCH!
To make the Popsicle Stick Puzzles, you need:
5 0r 6 large crafting sticks (5 if your puzzle is tall, 6 if your puzzle is wide)
Paint or wood stain (optional)
HP Social Media Snapshots Paper
Box Cutter or Scissors
Paint or Stain your crafting sticks and let dry. Choose the photo you want to use for your puzzle and print it out onto the Snapshots paper.
Once dry, line the sticks up next to each other, peel the backing off of your photo and place it onto the sticks, making sure to press down to get it to stick.
Flip over your sticks (they should all flip together, held by the photo) and use your box cutter or scissors to cut in between each stick.
Flipping back to the front of your puzzle, brush Mod Podge each stick individually over the photo and stick to really secure it on and to protect your photo. This is important to make it last as long as possible! Let them dry, and your gift is finished! Wrap it in a gift box, with ribbon or in a fabric gift bag. This is the perfect gift for the little ones in your life!
Next we made custom labels for bottles of wine and apple cider. These turned out so perfect I can’t even handle it! The Snapshots paper is the perfect size for a bottle of wine, and adding a photo or custom message to it makes for the cutest hostess or neighbor gift this Holiday season!
Choose your photo from the Snapshots app, print it out and simply peel and stick! No need to do anything else! We found that the black background in the app looked amazing on the bottles of red wine, while the white backgrounds looked great on the white wines. Each gal at the party is in a different season of life and I love the photos each of them chose to put on their bottles! They were able to make some tasty gifts for family, friends and themselves!
Like the word labels as opposed to the photos? We’ve got nine fun holiday themed images you can use to print yourself (Not to be used for items you sell, Simply Real Moms owns the rights to them) for gifts! Just click on the image of the label you like below, save the photo and open it in your Social Media Snapshots app to print!
These labels would also fit onto a six-pack of beer if you turn them on their side! Just make sure to turn the photo sideways before opening it in the app.
We had so much fun at our crafting party and can’t wait to do it again soon!
