POTTERY BARN KIDS KICKS OFF SUMMER READING CHALLENGE WITH PBS KIDS
AND is offering FREE BOOKS TO YOUNG READERS.
On May 15th we joined Pottery Barn as they announced the launch of its Summer Reading Challenge in partnership with PBS KIDS, the number-one educational media brand for children. The challenge, which runs through July 17, is designed to inspire a love of learning and literacy for kids and their families throughout the summer months. Summertime will bring lots if extra free time for children to explore the wonderful world of books and Pottery Barn Kids wants to help instill a love of books in your child with their Summer Reading Challenge.
Pottery Barn Kids is inviting children to ‘take the challenge’ by reading 8 books from a specially selected list of 20 children’s books. Each book was chosen based on favorites identified by Pottery Barn Kids customers, and features characters that excite the imagination in kids of all ages.
Children can pick up a reading list at their local Pottery Barn Kids store or just download the PBKids reading list. The list contains award-winning books that your kids will love. If they read all the books on their list by August 22, 2012 then they will qualify for fun prizes for completing the Summer Reading Challenge.
Pottery Barn also has a really cool Reading Tracker to help children keep track of their reading progress throughout the summer. Local sores will also be reading books from the award-winning list to children. Make sure you contact your local Pottery Barn Kids for dates and times.
Once your child has completed the Summer Reading Challenge, you can download this Reading Certificate for them. Your child can bring in the certificate to a local Pottery Barn Kids store to receive a free book! But also everyone who completes the Summer Reading Challenge is also eligible to enter to win one of five backpacks full of books!
We were so excited to join Pottery Barn as they hosted a Book Nook Design Session and cocktail hour with a one of their very own design specialists.
We were able to create our own bookmarks and join in on a special book signing with the very talented publisher,Nancy Guettier. If you are looking for educations books with a whimsical twist, check out her collection over at Nancyland Books.
Amazing cocktails and appetizers hosted by the Pottery Barn Kids store in Corte Madera, CA
After our trip to Pottery Barn Kids we joined all of our fellow bloggers for dinner at Le GARAGE, a bistro-styled French restaurant in Sausalito, CA. The restaurant overlooks the harbor in Sausalito and is so pretty. It is tucked away in a spot not easy to find unless you went there looking for it. The ambiance was very relaxing and the view was amazing!
Amazing Beet Salad!
