Moscow Mules have become one of my favorite go-to drinks for about a year now. Something about the combo of ginger and vodka seem to go together so well. This recipe from Sparkling Ice is a fantastic recipe that adds a little spin to the drink. Instead of adding the typical ginger beer, you make your own ginger syrup that is super tasty and adds a little extra to the Moscow Mule.
INGREDIENTS
-
1½ oz. vodka
-
4 oz. Sparkling Ice Essence of Original
-
1 oz. ginger syrup (recipe below)
-
Juice from ½ a lime
-
Lime wedge for garnish (optional)
DIRECTIONS
Fill your copper mug with ice to allow it to get it cold. Pour the vodka over the ice, add the unflavored Sparkling Ice, ginger syrup, and lime juice then stir. Garnish with a lime wedge and fresh mint then serve.
Ginger Syrup
-
2 oz. piece of ginger
-
½ cup sugar
-
½ cup water
Bring the sugar and water to a boil in a saucepan over medium-high heat, stir to dissolve sugar. Add ginger and bring to a simmer. Remove from heat, and allow the ginger to infuse for 30 minutes. Pour syrup through a finer strainer into an airtight container
