My family LOVES breakfast. I assume most families do. My husband’s favorite meals are when we have brunch or breakfast for dinner, and my boys always ask for seconds or thirds when we eat breakfast foods. We love to experiment with our breakfast foods, and so we usually end up with fun twists on different pastries, pancakes or egg casseroles.
Recently, I was making french toast and rather than use milk or cream, I added coffee creamer to the eggs and we decided we would never make french toast the old way ever again! The thick sweet creamer makes for the most mouth watering french toast I’ve ever had and then my mind started spinning with ideas.
There are TONS of coffee creamer flavors, but my family’s favorite is Irish Cream. We put it in our coffee, hot chocolate and even a splash into milk (my oldest’s favorite drink!). Naturally, that was the first flavored creamer we tried in our french toast. WOW. Just. WOW.It gives the french toast just a touch of the Irish Cream flavor and is perfect with strawberries and syrup. My middle guy was standing patiently behind me as I photographed the toast, and so I finally let him loose to eat it. His smile says it all. - 2 Eggs
- ¼ cup Irish Cream Creamer
- 4-6 Slices of Bread (Texas Toast is our Favorite!)
- Mix eggs and creamer until combined. Dip a slice of bread on both sides and place int a hot buttered skillet. Cook until browned and flip over, cooking the other side. Repeat with all slices. Serve with syrup and berries!
