Summertime has always been one of my favorite seasons. It’s a time where the kids let loose playing in the backyard, the smell of food coming off the grill, cold drinks, and good company. It’s a time where we laugh until the sun goes down and the kids are ready for bed. Summer also means warmer weather, but when you are in an area like I am, it means it’s too hot to enjoy being outside.
When it’s 113 outside, it’s usually safer (and definitely a lot more comfortable) sitting inside, even at night after the sun goes down. It’s been a pretty depressing summer being cooped up in the house. You can forget about going outside to enjoy a meal unless you want to sit in your own puddle of sweat while the sun just beats down on you. It’s miserable to say the least and our new patio furniture has been collecting dust. So when I learned there was a way we could start enjoying our outside space again during the summer, I jumped on the opportunity.
Meet the Honeywell CO60PM Indoor/Outdoor Portable Evaporative Air Cooler
The Honeywell Portable Evaporative Air Cooler has literally changed my life! I don’t know how I survived without it or why I didn’t know it existed before, but I am so thankful I now have one.
This air cooler does exactly what it says, it cools things down. While it’s not an actual air conditioner, it cools things (even in 113 degree weather) a lot better than a plug-in fan. It makes life a lot more comfortable and safe being outside.
Much like a breeze flowing across a lake or the refreshing cool air you feel near a waterfall, air coolers produce a comfortable, cool breeze with the natural process of water evaporation. When warm air is drawn into the Honeywell Evaporative Cooler, it is filtered through a wet honeycomb cooling medium, which absorbs heat and naturally cools and humidifies the air. A powerful fan pushes the cool air out of the front of the unit into the surrounding area. This no-compressor system cools naturally, efficiently and inexpensively.
I have 3 kids – two of which are very active and one who is less than a year old- so trying to find something we can all enjoy doing hasn’t been the easiest this summer. Our backyard is our place where everyone can enjoy and now all I have to do is plug in our evaporative air cooler and my older two can play while my younger one and I can enjoy quality time outdoors.
What I love about this unit is it’s not only easy to use, it is also easy to move around. I can literally do it while holding my baby in my arms. The evaporative air cooler can be used by just plugging in, which then acts like a regular fan, or by connecting a hose for maximum cooling.
When it’s not in use in our backyard, my boyfriend rolls it into the garage to cool him down while working on all his projects. We are finally able to get those pesky home projects and car projects done, even during the summer heat.
The evaporative air cooler can be used indoor or outdoor!
- Indoor use: For open environments with adequate cross ventilation up to 850 sq. ft.
- Outdoor use: Weather resistant, UV protected, and has an air-throw up to 12 yards
Please know that this unit should be used in areas with LOW humidity. Evaporative Air Coolers are more effective in areas with maximum relative humidity of 60% or less. Warm, dry air is important for more effective evaporative cooling and the temperature decrease will be greater in drier environments because higher evaporation occurs when the humidity is low. Evaporative Air Coolers produce moisture and can be used to increase humidification in a room. They are ideal for maintaining a cool breeze and increase comfort in homes located in drier regions.
