The holidays are a time that we love to get together with friends and family, as well as give gifts to our lovely neighbors. I hate to always bring food like cookies and treats to every party and neighbor, because it seems like there’s a lot of that and they might go to waste! I saw a post on Make It Do that gave a recipe for a delicious smelling potpourri that she makes this time of year, and I thought that might be the perfect little thing to bring as a host gift and to give to our neighbors this year! Just one kit can be used over and over for weeks (I tend to use mine for about a week). Simply add water as needed and turn it off at night or when you’re not at home. Add more water each m0rning and simmer all day…

It’s a very simple but very effective recipe, and it makes the house smell AMAZING!

Potpourri Ingredients

You’ll need:

1 Orange
1/2 Cup Cranberries
1 Tablespoon of Whole Cloves
2-3 Cinnamon Sticks

On Make It Do, she adds grated nutmeg, but that’s hard to do in this little bag so I skipped that…feel free to add a little though!

Place all the smaller ingredients into a small goody bag (or all ingredients into a sandwich sized ziplock!) and tie it closed with ribbon. Attach the printable (found below) either with string or do as I did and print it onto sticker paper and stick it onto the bags!
