Last night I had the pleasure of attending Home Depot’s Do It Herself Workshop hosted by radio personality Delilah. If you haven’t heard of the Do It Herself Workshops, check it out:
The Do It Herself Workshops are fun classes set out to save you money by learning to do your own projects around your home yourself. So many women don’t know how to use power tools or complete simple home improvement projects-but only because they haven’t tried! Home Depot offers these great workshops to give you the hands-on home-improvement skills in a comfortable setting.
At the Do It Herself workshop I attended, we were making jewelry organizers.
With the kit you receive* all of the wood is pre-cut and pre-drilled and it includes any hardware you need. The folks at Home Depot supply all the tools needed to complete your project and there are helpers there to walk you through it.
This was such a fun workshop and the project was perfect for beginner DIYers! The instructions were simple and easy to follow and made a cute organizer to take home! So many of the women were able to try their hand at some power tools
And were able to finish their jewelry organizers with their choice of paint. I took mine home unfinished and stained it with a dark walnut stain.
Last night’s particular event was hosted by Delilah, host of a nationally syndicated nightly U.S. radio song request and dedication program. We had so much fun all together and she helped everyone out with their projects, told fun stories and spent time with each and every fan who came.
We had such a great time making our jewelry organizers and in the end, everyone left with a gorgeous new jewelry organizer that they made AND the confidence and skills to do more projects on their own!
