Try out this yummy dessert-DIRT! It is so easy to make that you can do it with your child (or a group a children, such as a birthday party or pool party!). My children enjoyed doing this activity when we did it with a group of about 15 other children. Each child was given a cup with “mud,” then they added dirt and worms. After that—they ate it! EWWWWW!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 small package of instant Chocolate pudding
  • 1 eight-ounce tub of Cool Whip
  • Crushed Oreos (or let the kids crush them!)
  • Gummy worms (sometimes you can find other creepy, crawly, gummy critters)

Step 1:

Make your pudding according to the package directions and let it sit for 5 minutes. Mix the chocolate pudding, some (not all!) crushed Oreos, and cool whip until you get a light consistency. Refrigerate until use. You’ve made the mud! Step 2:

When you’re making this with a child or group of children, place a spoonful of the pudding-whip mix into individual cups for each child. Place the crushed Oreos (dirt) and gummy worms in bowls for the children to mix into their mud. If you are making this dessert for a party, a cute idea is to mix everything together in a sand pail, using the shovel for the spoon.

Step 3:

Let the children scoop the dirt and worms into their mud, mix together and enjoy!

I’ve seen many variations of how to make “Dirt”. Please share if you have other ideas!
