Children love to build and create cities. Often time when building with the same blocks, children start to resort to building the same type of things over and over again. Looking for ways to spice up block play for endless hours of fun? Try making City Blocks with your children. They will not only enjoy playing with them, but they have so much fun creating them!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Boxes- They can be any type of boxes; cereal boxes, boxes you’ve gotten in the mail, tissue boxes, etc…
  • Paint
  • Paint brushes and other mediums to paint with. I love to give the children things like sponges and q-tips to paint with.

Step 1:

Cover the area you are going to be painting in to protect the tables/floors from paint. This is very important when painting larger items!

Step 2:

Let your children paint the boxes. Using sponges to paint makes great windows! Step 3:

Let the boxes dry overnight before allowing your children to play with them.
