I LOVE hosting and planning parties. So, when I was chosen to host another #DisneySide @Home Celebration, I jumped at the opportunity. I especially love hosting #DisneySide get togethers because their purpose is not to celebrate one person in particular, but to celebrate the imagination and magic that’s in us all. Disney Parks and Mom Select sent us a box filled to the brim with just about everything we needed to make this celebration a MAGICAL one.

Our theme this time was Disney’s Cars. Lucky for me because my son has been obsessed with Cars since he was two!  We had plenty of extra props to add to the decor to make our party extra special and add our own personal touches. Using my sons Lightning McQueen wagon as our beverage display was a unique and fun way to show our #DisneySide.

Now, I’m not going to lie. I had to get a little creative with some of the decorations because of my vaulted ceilings. These guys are meant to hang from ceiling, but I turned them into signal lights to match the adorable table cloth they sent. I really liked the way it turned out and it was so easy to do.

One thing I really enjoy about hosting these little celebrations is having my four year old son help me plan and set up the entire thing. He has so much fun “decorating for my guests” and I love that. He helped me set up all of the tables, snacks and games. He really loved setting these cool Cars placemats out for each of his “guests”. We counted how many guests were on our list and set a special spot for each one.

Of course, the kids dove into the yummy snacks and drinks right away. I really loved the Cars themed plastic snack bags and individual snack baskets. They are a great way to serve individual snacks to each child; and of course they look adorable on the table. The CrunchMaster Cheezy Crisps were my personal favorite. The Fab Five Straw Banners added some extra Disney flare to the table, and are really fun for the kids to color and decorate before they use them.

After all their little tummies were full, we went straight to the fun activities. The printable coloring pages from are always a huge hit. You can also find the straw banners there, as well as many other activities and recipes.

What they really loved was playing “Pin The Smile on Mickey” . The giggles that came out of their little mouths were infectious! They thought it was so hilarious when their smile ended up in the wrong spot. It even had us adults laughing out loud!

Now, playing Bingo with a group of hyper 4 year olds isn’t exactly easy (especially since they had never played before) but they caught on pretty quick. They liked it so much, they played a second round on their own taking turns spinning the arrow and announcing the circle. We used the Cars Bingo game included in our kit but you can download a free printable Disney Parks version at We used cereal as spot markers which the kids really got a kick out of.

We couldn’t have a Cars party without a little racing action. KA-CHOWWW!!! So I used some chalkboard table runner paper that I had left over from my daughters birthday and made a simple two lane race track. We had no shortage of race cars to choose from; all of which were Disney of course. This was so simple and easy to set up and the kids really loved it. It also made a great spot for them to sit and enjoy their dessert.

Did someone say dessert!? Like I said before my son was one of the main planners of this celebration and decided that we should use the Tie Dye cake mix from celebrity baker Duff Goldman, to make individual cakes for each of his “guests”.  We had a blast in the kitchen together mixing the food coloring to make the different colors we needed. I love being able to have fun with my children and teaching them new things. The kids loved their “rainbow” cakes and ate them up as fast as Lightning McQueen can say Ka-Chow.

Of course we couldn’t let our guests go home empty handed. Each child went home with a customizable #DisneySide chore chart and luggage tags. The adults took home a pack of HP CMYK (Create Memories You Keep) Pack which included photo paper and envelopes. This is exactly what they need to print and keep their favorite #DisneySide memories.

At the end of the day, everyone went home happy and smiling. It was the perfect way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon. We really enjoyed hosting this #DisneySide @Home Celebration and can’t wait to do it again soon! Thank you Disney Parks and Mom Select for such a fun and magical opportunity!!
