This holiday season, make playdough with your children that will fill your home with the smell of Christmas! We made two batches, one green and one red. The addition of peppermint extract and glitter make it extra festive—it’s not just your everyday playdough!
- 2 cups flour
- 1 1/3 cup salt
- 4 tsp. powdered alum or cream of tarter
- 2 cups of boiling water
- 4 tsp. vegetable oil
- red and green food coloring
- peppermint extract
Mix together the dry ingredients.
Add the food coloring to the water. Then add the oil and water to the dry ingredients.
Mix thoroughly, adding in the glitter and a few drops of peppermint extract.
*Special tip: I’ve found that if your playdough is crumbly, it’s best to add a little bit more oil at a time. This works better than adding water and makes the consistency perfect!
