If you’ve ever traveled anywhere tropical, you will know the feeling of returning back home and getting back to reality. No more tropical drinks with an ocean view, no more gorgeous weather hitting your skin, and no more relaxing as you hear the waves crash onto the shore.
Just recently Emily, my business partner, and I took a trip to Negril, Jamaica. It was an exciting trip for the both of us as we had never vacationed before together, and we were also speaking at a huge social media conference. Because we had so many friends wanting to know how the trip was and to hear how the speech went, we decided to host a girls night in where we showed everyone our powerpoint presentation and recreated food and drinks from our trip to Jamaica. We are always looking for ways to get together and make some delicious drinks, so this was a perfect opportunity.
One of our favorite drinks from our trip was the Caribbean Crush. If you could describe paradise in drink form, this would be it. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to ask the resort what they used to make in it, so between Emily and myself, we crafted the re-creation of the Caribbean Crush to what we like to call… perfection.
Our version of the Caribbean Crush was simple to make, with minimal ingredients. We used Pineapple Vodka, Malibu Rum, Maraschino cherries, and the most important ingredient, Tropicana Tangerine Lemonade. Not only is the Tropicana refreshing on its own, but it makes for a great mixer when used in cocktails! Plus, it has no artificial sweeteners or flavors, so you can feel better using it in your drinks.
The drinks were a huge hit and now anytime I miss Jamaica, I can make this cocktail and almost hear the ocean.
- 1 part Skyy Pineapple Vodka
- 1 part Malibu Rum
- 3 Parts Tropicana Tangerine Lemonade
- 1 Tablespoon Maraschino Cherry juice
- Pour vodka, rum and Tropicana Tangerine Lemonade into a shaker.
- Shake well.
- Pour over ice.
- Add in Maraschino Cherry Juice.
