Apple pancakes are a staple in our house on the weekends. If you were to ask my son, Ethan, what he wanted for breakfast I can guarantee you he would say “apple pancakes!” The combination of apples with the pancake in every bite is truly something you will just have to experience for yourself. These are also extremely easy to make and something that will impress the members of your family.
What you will need:
- Pancake mix (I used Bisquick)
- Ingredients needed to make your pancake batter (Check your box of pancake mix to see. We needed milk and eggs)
- Apples (I used Honeycrisp. If you want it more tart, use a Granny Smith.)
How to make apple pancakes:
Step 1: Heat your griddle
Step 2: Mix pancake mix according to box instructions. Set aside
Step 3: Skin and slice your apples and cut the core out of each slice. Sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar over your apple slices.
Step 4: Place your apples on the griddle, cinnamon side up and allow to cook for about a minute or two. Flip your apple over and pour your pancake batter over the apple slices.
Step 5: Once your batter starts to bubble, flip your pancake over and cook until finished.
Step 6: Add butter and syrup to your pancakes and enjoy!
