With so many car options available it can be overwhelming to find the perfect fit. Families come in all different sizes and needs can vary drastically. While I have driven many types of vehicles I find that every car has its advantages and is different in its own way.
I recently drove the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer, a four door sedan with a sporty option as an economical vehicle. The Mitsubishi Lancer provides families with a vehicle that is centered not only a round performance but safety with a price the average family can afford. While this was my first time driving a Lancer I found many great attributes that it had to offer my family.
Sport front grille and bumper very sharp looking on the 2015 Lancer SE.
There is one thing I know everyone looks for when purchasing a new vehicle and that is gas mileage. It is getting harder and harder to save money on gas these days especially with larger vehicles. The 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer gets up to 29 miles per gallon on the highway which is a huge money saver. I noticed this the first day, I had spent most the day running errands for Christmas and the gauge didn’t’ even budge.
The Mitsubishi Lancer accommodates our family of 4 comfortably. While the Lancer is a 5 passenger vehicle, having two car seats in the back for our children, the 3 person seats quickly become two. This was fine for us because we do only have two children and so this worked no problem. Without the car seats you can easily fit 3 people in the back seat.
The cargo space was also perfect for just what we need as a small family. The back seats are 60/40 split folding which helps to add a little more room to the cargo area . This really helps if you have one child because you can fold one side down and take advantage of the extra space.
A top priority when looking for a vehicle is the safety. I have my children with me 90% of the time when driving and I have to make sure that they are protected as much as possible. The Lancer is equipped with 7 standard airbags including the drivers Knee airbag. It makes sense why they have been chosen on IIHS Top Safety Pick for the 7th year in a row. We really loved the latch system in place. It was very easy to reach and made installing our car seats a breeze.
6.1” Touch pan display audio system with rear view camera is great to have. I am a huge fan of the backup cameras. Once you have one, it’s hard to see yourself driving without one.
Heated seats are something I always look for in a vehicle sand come in so handy during the cold winter time. I always keep a cell phone charger in my vehicle in case of an emergency. I like that the location has its own compartment to keep the charger in.
The Lancer SE is equipped with a 140-watt AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system with 6 speakers total. This stereo system rocks and is one of my favorite features of the vehicle. Our family loves road trips, so having an awesome stereo system to travel to is definitely a must.
Power glass sunroof with tilt & slide and one-touch open/ close switch is very nice to have in a family vehicle. Both of my children love looking out the windows and on longer car rides this is an added feature we are very happy to have.
The AWC (All Wheel Control) system is used to monitor the road and transfer power and braking to the wheels most transaction, helping improve the handling of the vehicle in all weather types.
Lancer offers a 10-year/100,000 mile Powertrain Limited Warranty with their vehicles. That is an amazing warranty option that can come in really helpful when you have children. It’s great to know that Mitsubishi honors this and takes care of their customers.
My family really enjoyed the 2015 Lancer and really fit in into our small family’s needs. It may not have all of the features that some newer cars do have, but Lancer made sure the features added were the important ones and that family’s really needed.
