The edgy look, luxurious interior, and sporty performance of a Lexus has always appealed to me. It has been a vehicle brand that has been on the top of my list, even while I was in high school. During my high school years I had posters and cut outs of the Lexus IS 300 pinned to my wall and taped in my locker. So when I had the chance to drive the 2015 Lexus ES 350 it was like my childhood dreams were coming true. It may not have been a 2002 IS 300, but it was a more modern, luxurious sedan that fit my current lifestyle and I couldn’t wait to get behind the wheel.
The 2015 Lexus ES 350 is an attractive vehicle to say the least. From the front end you notice the beautifully displayed daytime running headlights and the sporty, aggressive front grille. The 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels greet you as you make your way around the vehicle.
Once inside, you realize why Lexus has the reputation it does. This is a beautiful vehicle. Not only was I impressed with the beauty of the interior, I was also impressed with the functionality of it as well.
The Remote Touch feature allows you to easily move through logical menus of the ES’s features. Located centrally for comfort and convenience, buttons on either side are easily accessible to both the driver and front passenger.
Take a look at how flawless the Remote Touch feature works:
The center-console controller provides easy access and operation of interior features, including audio and climate systems.
The 2015 ES 350 comes standard with a Drive Mode Select that enables you to make your ES more responsive or efficient with a simple turn of the switch. ECO mode moderates the throttle response, engine power output and climate settings for increased fuel efficiency. Normal mode provides the optimal balance of fuel efficiency and engine performance. Sport mode alters the powertrain for faster gear changes, more dynamic throttle mapping and helps to improve acceleration response.
I definitely enjoyed the sport mode when I needed the vehicle to drive more aggressively and hug the road during turns. The 2015 ES 350 has an incredibly smooth transmission and boy is that 268 horse powered V6 engine quick.
The LCD multi-information display offers access to numerous vehicle controls, as well as providing a better view of what’s behind the vehicle through the included backup camera.
One feature that really impressed me with the navigation system was the Lexus App Suite. This optional technology feature allows you to purchase movie tickets, check fuel prices, stocks, make dinner reservations, check sport scores, and so much more.
The 2015 Lexus ES 350 is extremely comfortable for both the driver and passengers as well. There’s just something about driving a vehicle that has a wooden steering wheel that makes life on the road much more enjoyable.
Back seat passengers stay comfortable in the rear of the car with air vents. I can’t tell you how disappointed I am when I see a vehicle without air vents in the back. My children are always so sweaty in the car during the summer months so I refuse to purchase a car without back air vents.
There is also an impressive amount of leg room for back seat passengers. Our Clek car seat is pretty bulky and hardly fits into most sedans. Not only did it fit easily into the back of the ES 350, but both my son and I had leg room while he was riding in the car with me.
Overall, I loved the 2015 Lexus ES 350. It makes for the perfect sedan for a family or individual needing extra space. It is powerful, gets great gas mileage and a vehicle you will look forward to driving daily. I will say this though, I could not figure out if there is an option to display a digital clock. I feel like I am pretty savvy when it comes to figuring out vehicles and gadgets, and couldn’t figure this part out. So if you do decide to check out the Lexus ES 350, be sure to ask the dealership about this. I found it to be a bit of a safety issue to have to look at an analog clock while driving.
The Lexus lived up to my expectations and I found myself running more errands just so I could drive it. It truly is a phenomenal car.
