I had the privilege of driving a 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport for a week. I had never driven a Mitsubishi before so I was excited to get behind the wheel of this crossover.
The 2013 Outlander Sport is all about delivering a great experience on the road—and on the road of life. It has a sporty yet fuel efficient MIVEC engine, two transmission options and the inspired confidence that comes from the available All-Wheel Control. And since it also features up to 49.5 cubic feet of cargo room, you get this level of performance without compromise.
If you have ever been hesitant to get a crossover due to the horrible gas mileage, I am pleased to tell you that the Outlander Sport rocks when it comes to MPG. This 2013 model gets 24/30 MPG. That is something to get excited about. I drove this crossover a lot, during the city streets and for long distances at a time. I averaged about 25-27 MPG which was a huge relief for all that I drove and really made my pocket book very happy.
There are so many great features to the 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. Here are some of my favorites:
Expansive 4×3 foot glass roof, and enhance the experience further with adjustable LED mood lighting.
The LED mood lighting was such a fun, classy touch to crossover. In fact, I am pretty sure this was my children’s favorite feature since it made them feel they were in a limo every night. They also loved to look out this huge glass roof during the day because they watched the clouds. They even made up a cloud watching game where they looked for clouds that were shaped like animals. A priceless experience in this crossover.
I have personally never seen this feature in any other car and I can’t begin to tell you what a life saver it was. We just installed new flooring in our house and the in-laws gave us a new push broom for our home. Without this feature, there is no way we would have been able to bring this broom home with us.
Super-wide Range HID Headlamps
Standard on SE models, the Outlander Sport’s super-wide HID headlamps not only look good, they can actually help improve your driving at night. By using Xenon gas, they project a beam that’s 35% brighter than standard HID headlamps for extra confidence on dark roads. Additionally, because the light emitted by the Xenon gas closely mimics sunlight, it produces greater definition and less eye fatigue. Plus, these super-wide beams span a full 80 degrees to give you a more complete view of the road.
Rearview Camera System
The Outlander Sport’s available rearview camera provides a wide-angle view of the area behind the vehicle, making it safer and easier to navigate out of tight parking spots or to avoid hitting things while backing out of a driveway.
As you can see the 2013 Outlander Sport is packed great features and this was only just a fraction. If you are on the lookout for a smaller crossover but not willing to sacrifice the legroom, space and sporty features, then the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is the crossover for you. Plus, they start at only $19,170! Visit your local Mitsubishi dealership to test drive yours today! Don’t forget to bring the kids so they can check out how fun that panoramic ceiling is, too.
Big thanks to Mitsubishi for sending me the Outlander Sport to review All opinions are my own.
