I had the privilege of driving the 2013 Mazda CX-9 recently. If I could describe an affordable, luxurious crossover, it would be this one. In fact, I loved it so much I didn’t want to give it back! Mazda really did an incredible job on the 2013 CX-9— from the comfort level, space, and performance, this has everything a family could want.
This 7-passenger 2013 CX-9 spoils driver and passengers alike—no compromise necessary. With a 273-hp 3.7L V6 engine and plenty of refined features, it packs more excitement than should be allowed of 7-passenger vehicles.
To give you more insight of the CX-9, I decided to do a video tour (I apologize in advice for my lack of editing skills):
In the video I included some of my favorite features. However, there are so many more great ones I just have to tell you about!
For having a third row, the cargo space was big. I easily stored grocery bags, my son’s baseball equipment, and a lightweight stroller. I love that you don’t have to compromise space even with the additional third row.
Rearview Camera & Backup Sensors:
This is feature that I think everyone needs in their car. Not only does it help you to get out of a close parking spot, but it shows you all your surrounding area so you are sure not to hit a small animal or child that you wouldn’t normally see out of your rearview mirror. The backup sensor alerts you with increasing frequency as distance decreases between the rear bumper and an object within the detection zone.
I covered only a fraction of this during my video tour with the passenger cup holders and storage compartment. There are plenty of cup holders for parents on the go. I also in love the center console for several reasons, here’s why:
I know I mentioned how amazing the navigation system is on the CX-9 and I apologize for cutting that part out of my video. I realized afterwards that it showed my address. The navigation is probably one of the best navigation systems I have ever seen. Mazda has partnered with TomTom, the industry leader in navigation systems, to bring you state-of-the-art navigation, so you’ll always have the most efficient routes to your destination. This system features intuitive voice recognition, so you can keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel at all times.
Another great feature to the navigation is on the bottom left of the system. It shows you the speed limit and then how fast you are going right next to it. If you go over the speed limit by 5 mph, the speed you are going changes from white to red.
Having the utility and versatility of an SUV doesn’t mean you’ll need to sacrifice fuel economy. Mazda CX-9 front-wheel drive models achieve an EPA-estimated 17 city/24 Highway MPG, while all-wheel drive models get an EPA-estimated 16 MPG in the city and an EPA-estimated 22 Highway MPG.
As you can see, the 2013 Mazda CX-9 is a great choice for families wanting a more luxurious car without the price tag. To learn more about the CX-9, please visit Mazda.com.
