Spring Break is here for your children and if your kids are anything like mine, you will be counting down the days until they are back in school (just kidding… sort of). A lot of people head out of town for Spring Break, but for our family, we like to stay close to the house and find fun activities to do that are easy and affordable.
Here are 11 great activity ideas to do with your children during Spring Break.
1. Go To The Zoo-
Depending on the weather, the zoo is a fun place to introduce your children to some cool animals they’ve only heard about.
2. Go Bowling-
Bowling is a fun activity to do because it doesn’t matter if it’s sunny, rainy, or cold.
3. Go Bug Hunting-
BUGS! I don’t know about you, but I had so much fun checking out the cool bugs that come out of hiding during the nice spring days.
4. Set Up An Indoor/Outdoor Campground-
One thing we love to do is go camping. It’s a great way to disconnect from our electronics and focus on having fun with the environment around us. While going out to a campground is fun, it’s also great to just create a small campground in your own backyard. Or, if the weather is horrible, in your living room.
5. Turn Your Living Room Into A Movie Theatre-
With apps like Netflix, watching movies in your home is so much easier. Just select some movies, set up lots of pillows, break out the delicious popcorn and snacks, and cuddle up.
6. Go On A Hike-
Sometimes getting away from the city or home is needed. If you have access to a hiking area nearby, go explore the trails with your children.
7. Bake A Cake-
Ok, maybe a cake isn’t your thing, but get your kids in the kitchen with you and bake up a tasty treat for you and your kids to enjoy. It’s a great way to teach them about measurements while incorporating it into something fun.
8. Explore A Flower Field-
Spring is the time of the year where gorgeous flowers bloom. Take your child to a field and explore the flowers that are around you.
9. Bring Out The Board Games-
I know for my family, we have a ton of board games just put away, that are hardly ever taken out. Take this time to bring them out and have a day of family time with board games. Some of my best memories as a kid was playing Shoots and Ladders with my brothers, and it’s great for our kids to get those same memories as well.
10. Take A Roadtrip-
Open up Google and find the closest monument or museum near you, and make a day trip out of it.
11. Visit Your Local Library-
Just because the kids are on Spring Break, doesn’t mean the education should stop during. If you have never taken your kids to the library, now is the time. Let them choose a book or two that excites them. Don’t forget, even if they are old enough to read on their own, they still enjoy when you read to them too. Make it fun by rotating who reads, we usually swap every other page
