How To Make GIANT Bubbles
IÂ love to get outside and play with the kids but I also love to get creative inside too! We decided to mesh the two together this week after watching the new Teletubbies DVD “Bubbles” and create our own GIANT bubbles formula and try making bubbles. Bubbles are universally fun. My kids all love to chase and pop them and I sure have fun making the bubbles that just make them laugh and smile so big. We decided to make a plan on how big we wanted the bubbles to be and my oldest son decided that our motive was to make a bubble as big as him.
So we set out checking the internet for the best formulas that have worked for others and there are a lot that have crazy ingredients, but so many of them use (wait for it) personal lube…
We didn’t have any in the house, but we did have wire lube thanks to a husband who quite often does electrical work. A lot of others have found the personal lube in the dollar store, so no need to go buy the special stuff…the cheap stuff works here!
Here’s the recipe:
GIANT Bubble Solution
- 1.5 Gallons (24 Cups) Water
- 1-2 Cups of Corn Starch
- 1/4 Cup of Baking Powder
- 2 Cups of Dish Soap
- 3/4 Cup of Lube (personal lube or we used wire lube)
- 1 Cup of Water
We mixed together the first four ingredients in a 5 Gallon Bucket, then mixed the lube and extra water separately and then added and mixed until it was all combined. Then we took it outside for some test action and whoa buddy.
Boy did we meet that goal!
We didn’t make the wand ourselves, but it would absolutely be simple to make. Here’s one you can purchase though: CLICK HERE TO BUY
We also found a set of 4 wands, which would let all the kids play at once! Find those HERE
After trial and error and teaching each of the kids how the wands worked, each was able to make giant bubbles themselves. Who won for biggest bubble? My middle guy! He’s three and was able to make the biggest bubbles! First with Dad’s help and then on his own…check out the video to see just how big he was able to make them!
The boys all loved chasing the bubbles around and taking turns making them. Even Dad & I got in on the action and had a blast! The kids really got good at making the bubbles and all three were able to make bubbles bigger than the parents could! The idea for making our own bubbles came from my toddlers’ new favorite DVD, Teletubbies: Bubbles. The boys love to watch the Teletubbies chase and pop bubbles and dance along to the fun music.
Releasing on June 20th, Bubbles is full of developmental benefits for your toddler!
My boys just love the Teletubbies and combine them with one of their favorite play activities-bubbles- and it’s a win! Their favorite part of the DVD is watching the Teletubbies’ bellies display the video of children playing with bubbles. They  as each child has a bubble blown around them-they wanted to try it out on their own! The Teletubbies make bubbles of their own too-when they make bubbles out of Tubby Custard the kids erupt in a fit of giggles as each bubble pops and makes a mess everywhere!
The Teletubbies: Bubbles DVD is packed with six new episodes your children will love and beg “Again, again!” just like the Teletubbies!
The Teletubbies: Bubbles DVD releases June 20th.
