We all know life with children can be hectic. And some nights it’s a scramble to even sit down to eat, much less have time to spend slaving away in the kitchen! In my quest to be healthy and cook more meals at home, I have been trying to make find meals that take under a half hour to prepare. This dish of grilled tuna and pasta with veggies is one of the easiest meals I have ever made, and your family will love it!
- Tuna steaks
- Whole-wheat angel hair pasta
- 1-2 garlic cloves
- Olive oil
- Microwave steamable bag of broccoli and cauliflower
Choose the spices you want for your tuna steaks. I decided to put my tuna in the fridge with some lemon juice and pepper the morning I was going to make them. Lemon pepper is an easy was to flavor tuna steaks.
Put water in a big pot on the stove and heat to a boil. At the same time, start grilling your tuna steaks. I used my Lean Mean Fat Grilling Machine to make them. It takes about 8-10 minutes to cook them that way. On the grill, cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side. Make sure you spray your grill with non-stick spray before starting!
Heat bag of broccoli and cauliflower in the microwave. Or if you have extra time, cut and steam or sauté your own veggies. I use the steam bags to cut back on prep time in the kitchen!
Cook your pasta. Angel hair pasta only takes three minutes to cook. Sometimes I throw in a bit of olive oil to give the pasta a bit more flavor. Drain the pasta.
In the same pot you cooked your pasta in, throw some diced garlic and olive oil in and heat. Add the steamed veggies and pasta back into the pot and toss together.
By this point, the tuna should also be just about done. There you have it! An entire healthy meal, from start to finish, in under 20 minutes.
