Fisheye Wine: Sweet Red
Now that summer is here and you’re spending a lot of time outdoors, it’s nice to have a good glass of wine to pair with those BBQ favorites. Fisheye Winery recently introduced their Sweet Red and I couldn’t be more pleased. With flavors of blackberries and strawberry jam, this is one wine that will have you refilling your glass the minute your take your last sip.
Fisheye Wines are from Southeastern Australia , started by Winemaker Steve Rodden. He wanted to make an approachable, food-friendly wine that appealed to new and experienced wine drinkers alike and he definitely accomplished that.
Sweet Red is a medium-bodied wine with a soft and generous palate and a smooth, long, lush finish that pairs well with most foods. Fisheye recommends pairing it with “Lamb gyros with fries, spicy tom yum soup or a grilled veggie wrap,” but I found it to go amazingly well with some BBQ chicken!
What I love most about Fisheye’s Sweet Wine is that it isn’t terribly sweet. It has the perfect amount of sweetness to make this wine enjoyable and to please even the pickiest of palates.
Fisheye Sweet Red comes in three different sized bottles—all at an amazing price. A normal 750mL bottle will run you only $7, making this an excellent choice for any summer gatherings you may have.
