Every fall season, I make a big batch of applesauce for my family. Everyone LOVES it and I love that it is much cheaper than buying applesauce from the store. I can make a big batch of this for about three or four dollars as compared to the same amount of money for a small jar of applesauce at the grocery store. Be sure to make this recipe with your kids, it is easy and fun!
Ingredients
  • 4 apples (I prefer honey crisp apples)
  • ¾ cup water
  • ¼ brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Peel, core and chop your apples and set in a saucepan.
  2. Add water, brown sugar and cinnamon and simmer for 20-30 minutes or until apples are soft.
  3. Mash well with a fork and spoon and mix well. Serve warm or chill in the refrigerator for one hour to cool.
