I’m a believer that homemade gifts are the most thoughtful and precious gifts of all. Now, it doesn’t have to be a handcrafted masterpiece to be meaningful. It can be as simple as a homemade card or a delightful jar of this Peppermint Sugar Body Scrub. This recipe literally takes less then 10 minutes to make and only has three ingredients! Yes, just three!

It will make the perfect stocking stuffer, hostess gift or gift for that one friend who has EVERYTHING. So let’s get to the recipe so you can enjoy this peppermint goodness for yourself.

First, you’ll need to gather the following ingredients and supplies:

  • 2 1/2 cups of Organic Cane Sugar
  • 8 ounces of Almond Oil*
  • 10-20 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil*
  • a measuring cup
  • a large mixing bowl
  • a mixing spoon
  • glass mason jar (always store essential oil products in glass)
  • your favorite holiday ribbon or decorative wrapping

You’ll start by pouring your sugar into a large mixing bowl. Then slowly pour the almond oil into the sugar and stir well. Make sure the oil is evenly mixed into the sugar.

Once the sugar and almond oil are mixed well, you can go ahead and add 10-20 drops of your peppermint oil. The strength and potency of your peppermint oil should determine how many drops you put in. My peppermint oil is extremely strong, so I used about 15 drops.

Mix the ingredients well and then you’re done! All you have to do next is spoon the scrub into your jars and decorate. This recipe makes enough for approximately four half pint mason jars so you can always adjust the recipe according to what size jars you choose.  I like the smaller jars  for stocking stuffers or to put in gift baskets and such.

This is seriously so easy to make and it smells great! I’ve been using it every day. My skin feels so soft and moisturized from the almond oil that I haven’t been using lotion! I love it! Pair this scrub with a bottle of wine and scented candle for your BFF; she’ll love you forever. I hope you enjoy making, giving and using this scrub as much as I do!

*Almond oil can be substituted with many alternatives such as olive oil, avocado oil, grapeseed oil and coconut oil. You can even add any of these into the recipe for extra benefits. It is best to use organic, virgin cold pressed oils whenever possible.

*Peppermint essential oil can be considered a “HOT” oil so this scrub is not recommended for use on the face or eyes. You can also substitute peppermint essential oil for approximately 1 tsp of peppermint extract. When using essential oils it is recommended that you use oils that are rated “therapeutic grade” for the highest quality, safety and best health benefits. I use Young Living but there are many others to choose from, so please do your research and choose wisely.
