DIY Hair Bows
Although I buy plenty of hair accessories for my daughter, sometimes I need a bow to match a specific outfit and don’t have just the right thing.
So instead of going on a wild goose chase for the perfect shade of pink to match a party dress, I just make my own!
This technique is super simple and easy to customize to your own needs. You can use any kind of ribbon—the possibilities are endless, so get creative!
Materials Needed:
- Ribbon
- Hot glue
- Jewelry wire
- Barrettes (you can buy a pack of them at the craft store).
Step 1: Tie one piece of ribbon into a knot and set aside (NOTE: This will be the same color as your top bow).
Step 2: Cut three pieces of ribbon the same length.
Step 3: Lay one piece of ribbon flat and fold into two loops as shown.
Step 4: Wrap small piece of jewelry wire around center of ribbon to secure into a bow.
Step 5: Repeat with two other ribbon lengths.
Step 6: Layer the three bows on top of metal clip barrette how you want them to look and secure with hot glue. Glue ribbon with knot on top.
