This is a great recipe to introduce new ingredients (like bean sprouts and water chestnuts) to tykes who only want to eat chicken fingers and tater tots. The ground beef and rice are kid-friendly ingredients, and the overall flavor of the dish is mild—a nice introduction to Chinese food for the tots who aren’t quite ready for General Tso’s chicken.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup raw rice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 can bean sprouts
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 soup can of water
Instructions:
Step 1: Brown meat, rice, celery and onion with soy sauce in a large pot.
Step 2: Add soup, water, water chestnuts and sprouts.
Step 3: Pour into casserole dish and bake at 350 for one hour.
