Blueberry-Strawberry Shortcake in a Jar
As I was preparing my strawberry shortcake for dessert last night, I realized I had a ton of blueberries left over from my son’s birthday party. With the 4th of July literally only a few days away and some festivities we will be attending, I decided to take out my mason jars and shot glasses for this ultimate 4th of July treat! The adults enjoyed their Strawberry-Blueberry Shortcake in the mason jar while the kids enjoyed theirs in the smaller shot glasses. Not only were these incredibly delicious, but they were SO easy to do. Seriously, like 5 minutes and we were all in Strawberry-Blueberry heaven.
What you will need:
- Strawberries
- Blueberries
- Angel Food Cake. (If you want to make your own shortcake, here’s a great and easy recipe.)
- Real whipped cream (Here’s a fantastic recipe for an easy-homemade whipped cream)
- Mason Jars
- Dessert shot glasses
How to make:
Dice strawberries and cut your Angel Food Cake into small squares.
Take your mason jars and/or dessert shot glasses and start layering. Start with blueberries at the bottom and work your way up. We went with blueberries, Angel Food Cake, whipped cream, strawberries (2x’s).
