Fall is here and my wardrobe for the season is complete now that I’ve got my brand-new diaper bag from Amy Kathryn!
Lately, I’ve been missing my former bag life—the one where I had purses galore to choose from every season and I didn’t feel like I was carrying luggage everywhere I went.
Now that my daughter is a toddler, I feel like I’ve got a better handle on what is absolutely essential to keep in my diaper bag and what is just extra loot to haul around.
With these things in mind, I decided I wanted a diaper bag that was stylish, season-appropriate and on the smaller side. And boy did I find it! My Gladiola bag from Amy Kathryn is their number-one selling style, and I can see why. It’s versatile, trendy and definitely unlike any other diaper bag I’ve ever owned!
I am in love with the olive, cream and warm brown color scheme. It’s perfect for fall and will take me right through the winter months, too. The subtle paisley print on the fabric portion of the bag adds a nice extra touch as well. But it’s not just pretty—it’s practical, too! Here are a few of the features that make this bag perfect for all my mommy needs while satisfying my inner fashionista.
- Large interior zipper pockets
- Two interior mesh pockets
- Four exterior open pockets
- Adjustable, detachable strap (my FAVORITE feature!)
- Zipper top closure
- Matching changing pads available (sold separately)
In my diaper bag I currently carry: two to three extra diapers, wipes, an extra outfit, snacks, bib, changing pad, hand sanitizer, wallet, keys, phone. It all fits beautifully into my Gladiola bag AND it’s all easily accessible.
Because the bag isn’t gigantic, I don’t spend 15 minutes digging around for keys. And because it’s not to small, am able to zip it shut every time. And speaking of zipping it shut—this is a HUGE bonus for me.
Many diaper bags have tops that fold over or Velcro shut. This can be nice sometimes, but I spend a lot of time in parks and other public places where I sometimes walk away from my bag, leaving it in the stroller. I recently had a friend get her wallet swiped out of her diaper bag while she was at the park with her daughter. I like that the zipper closure makes it a little more difficult to walk by and grab something out of it.
I’m also a huge fan of the exterior pockets on this bag because at first glance, they don’t even look like pockets. The elastic in them (which gives the outside of the bag the cool, scrunchy look) keeps the top of the pocket snug to the bag, so if I slip something in there it’s not visible to the rest of the world as I tote the bag around. I used to have one diaper bag that had mesh outer pockets, so you could see everything I was carrying around (dirty wipes, stale Cheerios, etc).
