Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes
Story by: Eric Litwin
Art by: James Dean
Sometimes it is hard to keep a positive, cool attitude; both as children and as adults. Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes written by Eric Litwin and illustrated by James Dean will put a new spin on the day for everyone! A fellow teacher showed us the book as we listened to the author reading it at a teacher meeting recently. I fell in love instantly and vowed to order the book for my son as soon as I got home.
Pete the Cat is a cute cat with an easy going attitude. He has a pair of white shoes and a catchy song he sings while walking down the street in his shoes. But, oh no! Pete steps in all sorts of things which make his shoes different colors! Does he cry? Nope. He just makes up new songs to go with his shoes that he continues to love. Pete keeps his positive, easy going attitude throughout the book and ends a moral that you’ll have to read to find out.
The song is catchy and fun! Listening to Eric Litwin reading the book and singing the song with children will put a smile on your face the rest of the day. And yes, I find myself singing the song even when I’m the only person awake in my house. OK. I will go so far as to admit that I have listened to Eric Litwin’s reading of the book (found at http://www.harpercollinschildrens.com/petethecat ) even when the children are in bed.
Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes will not only brighten up your smile, but put a new attitude in your heart and some swagger in your step. As you walk along, singing his song…
I personally own and love this book. I was not compensated for this review.
