One of our favorite family destinations to visit is California’s Great America
Great America offers something for everyone in the family and we always have the time of our lives when we visit. From Planet Snoopy for the little ones to thrill rides like Flight Deck and Vertigo for the teens & adults, there’s never a dull moment and we always leave exhausted from the fun.
Great America has some very exciting events coming up but we were most excited about the brand new virtual ride Mass Effect: New Earth. This dynamic new attraction features settings and characters from EA’s critically acclaimed Mass Effect videogame. It brings you right into the game itself with motion-based seating and 3-D glasses as you watch a live performer take you on a journey through the Mass Effect world right alongside the 3D visuals. You’ll be amazed by the high tech sound system and 4D elements like vibration and air to help you feel more like you are really there! My husband and son both LOVED it and highly recommend checking out this one of a kind experience.
Also new this year to Great America is the introduction of Winter Fest, coming this November! We can’t wait for this new event that will become an annual tradition at Great America. The park will be decked out in holiday decor and they will be transforming the fountain pool in front of the iconic double-decker carousel into a family ice skating rink! There will be spectacular live holiday shows, 18 of the park’s rides will be running (including Gold Striker and guest favorites), and your family can visit Santa’s workshop and Mrs. Claus’ kitchen, and enjoy scrumptious holiday foods at numerous locations.
The winter and holiday decor will be topped off by one of the Bay Area’s tallest Christmas trees, covered in hundreds of twinkling lights accompanied by giant toy soldiers greeting guests.
Do not miss out on the Winter Fest at Great America, open weekends starting November 25th 2016 and daily from December 19-23 and 26-30.

My family’s visit was hosted by Great America to facilitate our review. All opinions are my own.
