2015 Hyundai Genesis: That was Then, This is Next

Last weekend Hyundai flew me out to sunny Scottsdale, Arizona for a media introduction of the all-new 2015 Genesis. This redesigned Genesis quickly grabbed the attention of all with its striking design. With a more European influence, the all-new Genesis is set to take on vehicles of a more luxurious class— vehicles like the  BMW 5- Series, Cadillac CTS, and the Mercedes Benz E-Class— while offering a price that is significantly lower.

At first glance you will notice the bold and sporty front grille which is completely revamped from previous years. Complimenting the ostentatious grille are its sleek looking LED Running Lights. Additional options are available like the HID headlights with High Beam Assist. The HID Headlights improve your road manners without raising a finger. The Genesis’ HID headlights can automatically switch from high beams to low beams when an oncoming car is detected.

Adding to its more luxurious look, Hyundai stepped away from its traditional logo. The all-new Hyundai Genesis features a new assertive logo that adds to the intrigue of the design.

2015 Chrysler 200- An Impressive Midsize Sedan

chrysler200photo 2015 Chrysler 200 An Impressive Midsize SedanI’m not going to lie, my first car was bought on looks alone. It was a 1984 white VW Rabbit convertible, a California girl’s dream car and I wanted it so bad that the little things like manual transmission didn’t stop me from buying it. I was 16 years old with a brand-new driver’s license in my hands and a car I didn’t know how to drive yet. My priorities were a bit skewed back then, I’d like to think that I’ve matured and know what to look for when I want to purchase a new car.

Don’t get me wrong, when Chrysler flew me to Louisville, Kentucky last week for the media drive of their 2015 200 series I thought it was class act from just the photos! A mid-size sedan with a sculpted exterior, elegant silhouette, and an American design that reflects Chrysler’s coupes of the past, I was intrigued and wanted to know more.

Before we got our behind the wheel, we checked into the 21c Museum Hotel in downtown Louisville. I could write an article or two on this hotel alone and it’s unique, eclectic collection of artwork and penchant for red penguins. It was here that myself and 23 media representatives bonded in the penthouse for drinks and then again in the gallery space for dinner and decided upon driving partners for the next day. Recap Of The 2014 Chicago Auto Show

Last week I attended the 2014 Chicago Auto Show. Not only was this my first auto show experience, but it was my first time back in Chicago since I was a child. Sure the weather wasn’t the most ideal, but I did get to experience a true winter since it never gets that cold in California.

My eyes lit up once inside the auto show as there were literally thousands of vehicles for me to see, sit in, and learn about. Kia kicked off the event with a lively band and a huge announcement. Automotive Journalists and newscast reporters from all around eagerly awaited as Kia introduced their first all-electric, zero-emissions car sold in the U.S.— the all-new Kia Soul EV. The Kia Soul EV is expected to offer drivers a range of 80-100 miles per full charge.

After the Kia announcement we headed over to Toyota’s test track. If you are a fan of off-roading then you’ll be happy to know that Toyota introduced its TRD Pro Series package for the 2015 4Runner, Tundra and Tacoma.

To showcase the Toyota Racing Development (TRD) Series package, Toyota built an indoor test track where you can ride along and experience how these vehicles tackle off-roading dilemmas, such as losing traction, driving through unsettling roads and more. During the drive we drove through a set of rollers that stole traction from 3 of the 4 wheels to show traction control on just one wheel. We also drove through 2 feet of water, sand and mud, which was handled with ease. [Read more...]

Clek Car Seats: Putting Style and Safety First

As families are spending more time in their car, luxury details like style and comfort that once was overlooked has now become a priority. Parents are now searching for the safest, most comfortable and stylish car seat for their little ones, car seats that can match their child’s unique personality.

I’ll never forget the first time I saw a Clek car seat, not only was it the only car seat I have ever seen that I could categorize as stylish, but its modern look was sleek and not as bulky as most car seat’s on the market. It left me intrigued and wanting to learn more.

When I was offered the opportunity to drive the 2014 Toyota Sienna for three months, I knew this would be the perfect time to test out both the Clek Foonf convertible car seat for my toddler and the Clek Oobr booster seat for my seven year old.

When the car seats arrived I was anxious to get the car seats installed. After a quick read through with their very in-depth instruction manual, I was able to adjust the straps on the Foonf easily to fit my toddler. The only thing I had a difficult time adjusting was the crotch strap adjustment, for some reason I couldn’t figure out how to adjust it but with a simple YouTube search, I found some videos Clek made showing you how to adjust their straps and I was able to figure it out.

I will warn you, the Clek car seats are not light. In fact, they are heavier than any other car seat we have ever owned. However, coming from a mom who is crazy about the safety of her children, it makes me feel very comfortable knowing if we were to ever get into a bad accident, these seats will protect my children. They are solid! Probably one of my favorite things about the car seat, actually. [Read more...]

Traveling in Style With The 2014 Toyota Sienna

Travels in the Toyota Sienna 640x640 Traveling in Style With The 2014 Toyota Sienna

Last month I wrote an article about my girl’s weekend in the 2014 Toyota Sienna. In the article I mentioned I planned two back-to-back road trips. One of the road trip’s was the girl’s weekend to Lake Tahoe, California. The other road trip was our weekend in Apple Hill which is right near Placerville, California.

We love Apple Hill! During the Fall visitors from all around go there to pick and eat deliciously ripe apples, eat homemade apple desserts like apple smoothies, apple pies, apple strudels, apple donuts and more. I seriously could gain 30lbs just by visiting because the desserts are to die for. They even have a fishing pond where you can fish and watch the most beautiful ducks I have ever seen. [Read more...]
