Infant Gift Guide 2013

Can you believe there are only 22 days left until Christmas? Time sure flies during the holiday season which means the stores tend to be packed and holiday shopping can get overwhelming. Some of my favorite items can be found online or in unique stores that will have that special gift that’s perfect for the little one in your life. I have compiled  a list of some of my favorite items for infants.

Fisher-Price Kick and Play Piano Gym

Fisher-Price: $53

Discover n Grow Piano Gym

This is the latest must have toy for infants! The perfect gift for your little one or a little one your love. This activity gym is more than meets the eye! It starts as a lay down activity gym with a piano by your little one’s feet so that they get audio stimulation as they play. Movable toys on the overhead gym encourage baby to bat and grasp. Move the arch down for tummy-time play, or flip the piano up and let baby sit and entertain you with a piano concert. We love this because it will outlive other activity gyms! It will grow with your little one, making it useful for up to a year old (maybe even longer!).

Infantino Vibrating Teether

Step 2: 0

Vibrating Teethers

These fun fruit shaped teethers from Infantino are a great choice, and very affordable! When baby bites down on the bumpy surface of these teethers, it turns on a gentle vibration, soothing your little one’s sore gums. I personally have both of these that I bought for my first son and still have them and use them for baby #2! Love these!

Books

Available Everywhere

Bookshelves

Buy that special little one on your list some books this year! No worries on the reading level, I think it’s always a great idea to add to a child’s library. Books can get expensive when you have to buy them all for yourself, so receiving them as gifts each year helps grow a child’s library in no time!

Winkel from Manhattan Toy

Manhattan Toy: $14

Winkel

This crazy looking contraption is a GREAT toy for baby! We love it so much that this is the second year it has made our gift guides for baby!! Stunning colors give this fun toy a lively look, and the skinny tubes are easy for even young infants to grasp. Babies will be engaged and amused by the rattle in the center, and you can safely refrigerate this pliable plastic toy to produce a soothing teether. We love it in my house, it was given to us as a gift and my 4 year old even loves to play with it, so it’s use continues past infantcy.

Baby Legs Leg Warmers

Baby Legs: $10-$12

Baby Legs

These are my baby must haves! Baby Legs Leg Warmers may seem like a silly or frivolous idea, but trust me when I say that these babies are for more than just your baby’s legs! I love using them for my newborn because he can wear simply a onesie and a pair of Baby Legs, keeping him warm enough yet making diaper changes a breeze. When he hits the crawling stage, they keep his knees safe from the tough ground. Once your child is walking, place them on your child’s arms for a double sleeve look without needing two shirts, OR use them under a skirt or shorts for your little girl for the look of tights!

Tranquil Turtle

Cloud b: $42.95

Tranquil Turtle

The Tranquil Turtle comes from the well loved Cloud b family, makers of the Twilight Turtle! What sets the Tranquil Turtle apart though? It projects light that looks like waves of water onto your child’s walls and ceiling, as well as makes the sound of waves or calming music. This is a great night time or nap time soother for your little one to have in their bedroom! My son is 4 and still loves his, asking for it every night and has even named it “Squirt” since it looks like the baby turtle from Nemo!!

WubbaNub Plush Pacifier

Amazon: $13-$15

Wubbanub

The WubbaNub Pacifier is a small bean bag animal attached to a soother pacifier. It was something I heard of when I had my first son and I thought it was the silliest idea ever. Then I had my second son, and he would only be soothed if he was holding something while he nursed or took a pacifier. We would use a burpcloth or a blanket to keep him satisfied, but now we have a WubbaNub and he is the happiest little guy when he has it in his arms! The plush animal comes in so many different options, from dogs to giraffes to longhorn bulls. Having that plush on the pacifier also makes it a ton easier to find it when your’re in the car, your little one has spit out the pacifier and then changes their mind. This is a fun gift for any baby!

Boys Ties or Girls Bows from Tadpole and Lily

Tadpole & Lily: $19-$30

Tadpole and Lily

We just love Tadpole and Lily! They make the most adorable accesories for your little one. For boys they have customizeable Bow Ties and Neck Ties, and for the girls there’s Flower Headbands and Bows. Pick your fabric from a variety of choices, then choose the type of accesory you want. Perfect for any occasion.
